Some updates for our members:
The Iowa Football Coaches Association/Iowa Print Sports Writers Association is hosting the football all-state selection meeting on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. at Dowling Catholic High School, 1400 Buffalo Rd, West Des Moines, IA 50265 (the same location as the prior few years).
For those unable to attend the physical meeting, they may attend via Zoom. A link will be sent to those who register below once it is available (likely a couple of days before the meeting). The link will only be sent to those who register. Please register ASAP. Registration does not commit you to attend.
Please note, as has been the case in year’s past, only football coaches may nominate players for all-state teams. Coaches and sports writers will vote on the final teams.
A second update regarding IPSWA membership this year:
Currently, the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association has a healthy cash reserve that can fully fund the organization’s current and near future needs. As a result, we are waiving membership dues for this year. We will continue to monitor our financials each year to make a determination whether membership dues will be required.
Any sports writer that works for an Iowa newspaper may join IPSWA this year for no charge. Simply register at the link below. Even if you’ve joined IPSWA prior, everyone should fill out the registration below so that we can update our media and membership lists accordingly.
All those registering will be added to an email list to receive meeting updates, the Zoom link for the football meeting, as well as the team lists prior to their public release.
Those who have paid membership dues since March 2023 through current will be automatically refunded.
